I’m Ben Sosa, founder of Shark Bait Survey and a Lake Erie native. I’ve been boating for 20+ years and working around boats for over 30, from small runabouts to offshore cruisers. After formal training at the Chapman School of Seamanship in Florida, I built my practice to bring clear, trustworthy, and unbiased surveys to buyers, owners, and insurers.

I combine hands-on experience with disciplined methodology—thorough inspections, detailed reports, and practical recommendations you can act on. My goal is simple: help you understand a vessel’s true condition, negotiate with confidence, and enjoy more time on the water with fewer surprises.
